Janet Leigh: Scene by Scene, Thursday, 22.45, BBC4

So, when was the last time Psycho was on the Beeb, then? For thirty years, since its premiere in 1968, it was unspooled pretty frequently but we reckon this week it’s getting its first screening on the Beeb this century, the last transmission we can find being back in 1999. To make up for that it’s on twice this week, a suitable late evening transmission on Sunday night BBC2, just like the old days of Moviedrome, followed by a screening at nine o’clock tonight, followed by Janet Leigh reflecting on her career with Mark Cousins in 2000 and Mark Kermode dissecting the world of horror.
