Zak Bagans has become a star thanks to Ghost Adventures. However, there are some fans who feel that he has put his desire for fame ahead of his desire to find the truth. For the fans who want to see the truth about the possible existence of ghosts find this disappointing.
Here is what fans are saying about Zak and his work on Ghost Adventures.
Zak Bagans called out on Ghost Adventures
Zak Bagans is a paranormal investigator who has hosted the TV series Ghost Adventures since 2008. With 213 episodes and counting under his belt along with 47 specials. However, with all these investigations under his belt, fans have started to feel that he isn’t trying to really discover anything paranormal and is instead just trying to become an entertainer to make more money.
A Reddit thread was started that accused Bagans of this exact thing. The OP post said that he has to “put on an act every episode.” The OP asked if there was supposed to be the idea of proving there are ghosts. However, they feel Bagans doesn’t care about that anymore.
On Redditor commented that it seems that Zak wanted to be Ed or Lorraine Warren (the real inspirations behind The Conjuring). They were famous and had their own paranormal museum before Zak ever did. Other commenters said that Ghost Adventures is a TV show, so it is obviously about entertainment first and foremost.
However, there was also one other complaint brought up. The OP mentioned that Zak never leaves his “bubble” and doesn’t branch out to more unique haunted locations. A Redditor said that Zak won’t fly, so that limits where he can go.
Is paranormal investigating a lose-lose for Zak Bagans?
Finally, a Redditor mentioned that this entire endeavor is a lose-lose situation for Zak Bagans. They wrote that if Zak finds something that proves there are ghosts, people will still never believe it. If someone doesn’t already believe in the possibility of ghosts, Zak won’t prove to anyone it is real no matter what he finds. As a result, it is better to stick with entertainment over trying to prove something to those who refuse to believe.
Ghost Adventures is back with some new adventures in 2023. Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley, and Billy Tolley are still looking to explore new haunted locations and it all continues on October 4 when they open the new season with a two-hour special called Ghost Adventures: Devil Island. The team investigates Angel Island across the San Francisco Bay. This was a one-time home of an immigration station that had a history of torture. There is allegedly still residual anger and ecstasy on the island.
Do you think that Zak Bagans has really given up on finding the truth on Ghost Adventures? Is it all about entertainment for Zak now? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
