‘GMA’ Replaced Fan Favorites Robin Roberts & Michael Strahan

All of the well-known Good Morning America hosts were missing from the news desk on Monday morning. The beloved hosts Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan both were replaced by new faces. Where are the fan-favorite GMA hosts, and will they be returning? Keep reading to find out.

Other Projects Taking Up ‘GMA’ Hosts’ Time

Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan, and George Stephanopoulos were all missing from GMA on Monday morning and replaced with fill-ins. A number of other projects have been taking up some of the time of the Good Morning America hosts.

Last Tuesday, Robin Roberts was missing from the morning program to promote another project. A while before GMA aired for the day, she promoted an interview with Kerry Washington on social media. Washington was featured on 20/20 and opened up to Robin Roberts before discussing the release of her memoir, Thicker Than Water.

“So many moments that got us!” Roberts wrote on Instagram. “Washington got candid about her life and struggles before finding fame, how she’s searching for her ‘authentic self’ while also trying to track down her biological father, how she kept her wedding a secret and why motherhood is the most important role she has ever played.”

Washington also discussed a number of difficult topics, including having an abortion, her eating disorder, and being sexually assaulted as a child.

Robin isn’t the only one with additional projects on her plate, though. Michael Strahan typically holds a different schedule on GMA during football season, which has ramped back up over the last month. He hosts the NFL on Fox on Sundays, so that likely explains his absence.

There isn’t any information about projects that George Stephanopoulos has taken on beyond GMA, but he could just be taking a well-deserved break.

When Will Robin Roberts & Michael Strahan Return?

Gio Benitez sat in Michael’s spot. Linsey Davis and Rebecca Jarvis sat in for Robin and George, respectively. No one on the set of Good Morning America addressed the reason why the hosts were missing, to begin with.

Both Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos were missing from Friday’s show as well. They each missed other days last week too. George ducked out early on Thursday, and, as mentioned above, Robin was missing on Tuesday to promote her 20/20 interview with Kerry Washington.

Right now, there hasn’t been any information shared as to where the beloved hosts are this week or when they’ll return to their regular schedules. However, for Robin and Michael, it’s safe to say that they will continue to be intermittently absent while they tend to their other projects and obligations.
