Hallmark’s latest movie Christmas By Design is guaranteed to revive that forgotten love of Christmas. What is this movie about? According to the synopsis, Charlotte is a fashion designer. She owns an exclusive boutique called Alastair in New York City. Her brand is focused on luxury and looking luxe.
Suddenly, Charlotte gets the opportunity she has been dreaming of. She has been selected to participate in a design competition. It is for Warwick’s Department Store. This could not be a better showcase for her talent.

However, the assignment is to create a “Christmas-themed collection for their home & family brand.” What’s the problem? Charlotte doesn’t really enjoy Christmas. She usually just works through the holiday, skipping any trip back home. Christmas is just another day on her calendar.
As she ponders this, Charlotte deals with a pipe bursting in her apartment. Therefore, she decides that this is a sign. Now, she is headed back home for a real family Christmas. Also, Charlotte hopes that this will spark some ideas for her original Christmas design.

Yet, when she arrives home, her plans quickly go awry. She enjoys the merriment of it all. That includes the annual 12-Days-Of-Elfcapades event. Who doesn’t love this whimsical and fun tradition? As she finds inspiration in her hometown’s festivals, Charlotte meets Spencer. By day, he is a mechanic. At Christmas, this handsome guy runs the festivities.
Despite a rocky first impression the two form a deep connection, giving Charlotte the creative spark she so desperately needs to inspire a new Christmas design…one that is completely different from anything she’s done before.
Most of all, does she find out that what she wants and what she needs could finally be the same thing?

Hallmark’s Christmas By Design is based on the Robyn Neeley book Jingle Jammies. According to her biography, Robyn Neeley writes “sweet and sassy contemporary romance with heart and humor.”
