iCarly fans—we have some bad news for you.
Paramount+ has officially axed the revival of the series after three (short-lived, in our humble opinion) seasons, a rep informed TVLine on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
According to the spokesperson, Paramount+ noted, “The series had a great three-season run and delivered on what fans really wanted to see with Carly and Freddie finally getting together. We want to thank the entire cast, the writers, directors and producers along with the whole crew for their dedication, creativity and talent.”
Those who don’t want to believe it also got the confirmation from cast member Laci Mosley (who plays Carly’s roommate Harper), who was one of the first to leak the news early Wednesday, telling followers on X (previously Twitter) who were wondering why it wasn’t renewed yet that “it’s cancelled, babes.”
iCarly— which stars Miranda Cosgrove as the titular character Carly Shay—initially ran from 2007-2012 before being revived in the summer of 2021 to give original fans a chance to catch up with all their favorite now-adult characters.
Cancelations are never great, however, as they leave viewers hanging, and in this case, the third season left off with many cliffhangers that will never get resolved (like the reveal of Carly and Spencer’s mom!), unless the series is successfully shopped around to another network.
At least we can all take comfort in knowing that Carly and Freddie (Nathan Kress) didn’t just get to date for seven episodes, they made the decision to tie the knot!
It’s just a bummer we won’t get to see them walk down the aisle.
