While the topic of sexual partners isn’t new to daytime talk shows, on Thursday’s episode of The View, co-host, Whoopi Goldberg, appeared distraught over recent comments made by actress Rachel Bilson about how many sexual partners a man needs.
Before the clip ended, both her co-host and the audience chuckled as Whoopi Goldberg sat there, somewhat astonished by what Bilson said during her Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson podcast. Discussing men, the actress explained how it is a “little weird” to meet a man who might have slept with just four women. Knowing how her comments might come off, she quickly added, “Maybe he’s been in decade-long relationships, totally respectable. But if he’s single in his 40s and it’s only four and he’s never been in the long term, that’s an issue.”
Whoopi Goldberg Shocked By Bilson Statement
Still needing time to process her thoughts, Whoopi Goldberg sat silent. At first, due to not fully understanding Bilson. But after some help from Joy Behar, Goldberg commandeered the show, explaining how at one time, men believed it normal to have several sexual partners. She noted how men “could do whatever they wanted to do and women were not supposed to”. The actress continued by stating “If he is happy with you and you are having a good time”, past sexual partners don’t matter.

Giving her own take on sexual partners, co-host Joy Behar, seemed to act as the comedic relief, suggesting, “If just one out of the four could locate my G-spot, I’m all in! I don’t need thousands of them, give me one good one, right, ladies?” Her words broke the tension, giving Goldberg a good laugh. Behar added she was going to form a “search party” to help “them find it”.
Not The Women From 200 Years Ago
With the crowd behind her, ‘The View’ host suggested that partners need to be open when it comes to what they want. She recalled in the past, men relied on their fathers to teach them about their bodies and how women struggled when it came to sex due to not being allowed to have “conversations” about the taboo subject. The host praised the shift in recent years to openly talk about their sexual needs, saying, “Women aren’t the women they were 200 years ago”.
Weighing in on the conversation, the other hosts, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sunny Hostin, claimed they rather not talk about their partner’s past exploits. Hostin said the only reason she wanted to know about a partner’s past was if some sort of disease was a product of that relationship, “because I don’t want that”.
Much like Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg, The View fans online shared the same thought with one person writing, “Only if they had multiple partners”. When it comes to your significant other, do you side with Whoopi Goldberg or Rachel Bilson? Share your comments below.
