Katie Thurston is giving love a third chance on the reality show FBoy Island. She breaks down the differences between the CW show and The Bachelorette and reveals where she stands with her Bachelor Nation exes.
Katie Thurston & Blake Moynes Reconnect On Bachelor In Paradise
Katie Thurston was one of the contestants on Season 25 of The Bachelor. While sparks didn’t fly with her and Matt James, she won over viewers and ABC brass with her outspoken and bubbly personality. She was quickly picked to lead Season 17 of The Bachelorette.
Season 17 ended with a dramatic exit from frontrunner Greg Grippo and a proposal from Blake Moynes. Just a few months after filming, Moynes and Thurston ended their engagement. She recently told Us Weekly that living in separate countries during the pandemic was one reason for the split. Moynes was living in Canada at the time, while Thurston was living in L.A.

The former Bachelorette told the outlet that long-distance relationships aren’t “the right choice for someone like me who really wants a hands-on, in-person relationship.”
Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes ended their relationship in 2021 and haven’t spoken since. Until they both ended up on the beach in Mexico for Season 9 of Bachelor In Paradise. Blake Moynes joined the show to look for love again while his ex makes a one-episode cameo.
Fans will have to tune in to the Bachelor Nation show to see if their first interaction since the split is awkward or if they’re on good terms.
Bachelor In Paradise airs Thursdays at 9 PM Eastern on ABC and streams on Hulu the next day.
Where Does She Stand With Ex, John Hersey?
After the end of her engagement to Moynes, Katie Thurston quickly moved on with another former contestant, John Hersey. Maybe too quickly, she says now. One lesson she took from the short-lived rebound was “don’t hard launch too early.”
Thurston told Us Weekly that she recently heard from him. She said that he reached out to say hi but she didn’t respond. But she doesn’t have any hard feelings for her ex. “There’s no bad blood, we’re good,” she told the magazine.
Katie Thurston Breaks Down Bachelorette & FBoy Island Differences
There may not be bad blood with her exes, but Thurston has been critical of her Bachelorette experience in the years since her season. But that didn’t sour her from all reality TV shows.

She is one of the leads on the upcoming season of FBoy Island. The show is a combination of a dating show and a competition, with a potential monetary prize.
The show follows three women – Katie Thurston, model Hali Okeowo and social media influencer Daniella Grace – as they try to find love among 21 men, only half of whom are “Nice Guys” looking for a relationship. The other are “FBoys” looking for hookups and the cash prize.
Thurston and the other women have to figure out which ones are “Nice Guys” and which are “FBoys.” Comedian Nikki Glaser hosts the show, which Katie Thurston cites as one of the main reasons she joined the show.
The former Bachelorette is an aspiring comedian. You can watch her NSFW comedy routine here.
Katie Thurston says one of the biggest differences between The Bachelorette and FBoy Island is quality time. She said that the ABC dating show is “very quick,” where you’re constantly pulled away by other contestants.
With FBoy Island, she found she had more time to really get to know the men, which may lead to heartbreak later if they’re revealed as “FBoys.” But she’s willing to take that chance.
She posted a video on social media breaking down the differences. NOTE: The premiere date she says at the end has since changed.
FBoy Island premieres Monday, October 16, at 8 PM Eastern on The CW. Are you excited to see Katie Thurston on another dating show? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
