Jennifer had a rough childhood, which led to her weight gain. Her father was a drug addict and left her mom when she was five. After that, she had a stepfather who was abusive. She got pregnant with Marissa at the age of 16 and struggled a lot in life. She resorted to food as her source of happiness. However, the My 600-lb Life alum’s life changed when she met Dr. Now.

With the help of bariatric surgery and a healthy lifestyle, she dropped 210 pounds and left the show at 426 lbs. She continued losing weight after filming and eventually scaled 382 lbs. On the other hand, Marissa also had a successful journey with the bariatric surgeon. She had gastric sleeve procedures similar to her mother’s and eventually shed 232 lbs. She continued pursuing physical goals along with her mom. Her last reported weight was 242 lbs.
Jennifer Went Back To Dawayne
Jennifer also got into a dangerous relationship with a man named Dawayne. The guy was addicted to gambling and alcohol. He even introduced drugs to the My 600-lb Life alum. Due to this, she decided to end their relationship. However, in her return episode, Dr. Now’s patient revealed that they reconciled and eventually tied the knot in 2020. Marissa also got upset by her mother’s decision. But the man promised to change, and they moved to Killeen, Texas.

Marissa kept in touch with the fans after the show. She married a woman named Gina Qtararo Joch. They currently reside in Tampa, Florida. The former My 600-lb Life star’s FB page also states that she’s working as a clinical nurse specialist at BayCare. Many of her photos also show that she has maintained a healthy weight throughout the years. In November 2022, she shared a sweet photo with her wife.

It’s also reported that the mom and daughter had a strain in their relationship due to their separation. Nevertheless, they showed incredible support for each other during their journey with Dr. Now, which inspired many viewers.
