Season 2 of Last King of The Cross, starring Lincoln Younes, has been acquired by Sky (U.K.), Warner Bros. Discovery (New Zealand), and Paramount+ (Canada),
Season 2 will delve deeper into the world of Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim as he expands his empire into the booming queer nightclub scene in Sydney.
Helium executive producer Mark Fennessy told the Sunday Telegraph the show was “…a world within a world – I always saw it as an international story where Sydney was purely the location as opposed to it being a typical Australian story.”
Fennessy said the series had all the elements for success – a really well written, produced and directed piece with great casting and high production values – but success was “never a guarantee”.
James Durie, head of scripted, Cineflix Rights said: “Alongside working with producers to develop and launch new dramas, building successful scripted franchises is a key part of our strategy.”
The series screens in Australia on Paramount+.
