Late Sunday, ET shared an exclusive interview with WCTH star Erin Krakow. This was right after the Season 10 finale episode. According to the new showrunner Lindsay Sturman, her character Elizabeth Thatcher Thornton had suffered from extreme trauma about the loss of her late husband Jack (Daniel Lissing).
Therefore, the traumatized school teacher dumped her fiancé Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally) at the train station, instead of supporting his run for Governor to help save her beloved Hope Valley. Then, in the final episode, it looked like Elizabeth was no longer traumatized.
Moreover, she and Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) were about to make a love declaration, when they were interrupted by Bill Avery (Jack Wagner). Lucas, her ex-fiancé, was in some sort of trouble and they needed to get out of Dodge.
Now, Erin Krakow has revealed that indeed, there is “hope” that Nathan and Elizabeth end up together in Season 11, which they are currently filming. But she assures Team Lucas that this will be “respectful.” So many Lucas fans have already left the Hallmark series after the shock breakup.
Though I’m sensitive for any of our viewers who may have just watched all of this go down. I know it’s very fresh for them. And for that reason, I’d just like to say that we take our time with any of this. We are intentionally being as respectful as we can. But, it’s really important that Elizabeth have love in her life. And, we’re on that journey.

WCTH star Erin Krakow was asked if she thought that Elizabeth and Nathan was the end game. Did this couple make sense? Could they end up together? Krakow was very positive about that, and exclaimed, “I do.” Then continued. “I absolutely think it makes sense. And I think that everybody deserves a happy ending. That’s what we’re after.”
However, Team Nathan fans may become frustrated at the slow pace in Season 11. But, Krakow reveals, “We will be dropping hints as much as we can.”
Therefore, if you are waiting for a big Elizabeth and Nathan love scene, it sounds like it will be at the end of Season 11.
Currently, WCTH is filming in Vancouver, thanks to a special SAG-AFTRA waiver allowing them to continue despite the strike. When Calls The Heart Season 11 will premiere in 2024.
