During their time at the diner for dinner, Theresa shared that she married her high school sweetheart just as Gerry did. They were married 42 years before he passed away. She and her husband also had two children.
When Gerry heard her story and was able to see how similar it was to his own, he said he could think about losing Toni and not breaking down and crying. He once again felt hope for the future.
