Gold Rush Season 14 premiered on September 29 and spoilers revealed that Parker Schnabel risked a fortune. Additionally, it could go wrong, and that might mean his crew could end up without a job. Actually, it seems that the Discovery miner had to make some nail-biting decisions about their future.
Gold Rush Parker Schnabel Cares About The Crew
Experienced mine workers are not all that easy to find, but beyond that, Parker really does care about them as people. For instance, in Season 14, Rick Ness, who missed nearly a year because of seasonal affective disorder, (SAD), returned to the Yukon. After hitting rock bottom, it wasn’t easy for Rick to return, but he felt “touched,” because Parker stood by him. So, he described him as a “positive” influence.
In the new season of Gold Rush, Parker Schnabel made a massive decision after the lease with Tony Beets expired. Will he put Rick Ness and the rest of the crew at risk? Come to that he could put himself at risk of a secure future. Now, he knows gold mining, and by the age of 24, he had done really well. Nevertheless, even the most experienced person in the world can get it wrong: especially on virgin ground.

Gold Rush: A Gamble That Risks His Crew’s Livelihoods
Spoilers already revealed that Parker Schnabel struck up a new huge deal for another claim in Alaska. He wasn’t overly keen that it meant partnering and paying out advance royalties. Additionally, it tied him into a deal that meant a $1 million minimum annual work commitment. Ahead of the season, it wasn’t clear that Discovery would air more about it. Well, it is very much a big part of the story.

In the premiere episode of Gold Rush, People reported that the crew sits on the miner’s mind. Basically, when he committed to paying out a fortune, he risked everything for himself. However, he also risked his crew. Bear in mind, that getting a team together and getting them to work correctly takes time. Going all in, he’d rather risk everything than send some people away and downsize.
A Big Operation
The Gold Rush star spoke with the outlet, saying, “I probably would’ve rather lost money and kept the team…whole than downsized, honestly.” In fact, he’d rather walk away from the “business entirely” than consider “getting smaller.”
Do you like that Parker doesn’t want to lose any of his crew? Do you like that he seems concerned about their livelihoods? Certainly, the new season looks likely to be a nail-biter. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
