Season two of The Gilded Age premieres on HBO October 29. The season begins on Easter morning 1883, with the news that Bertha Russell’s bid for a box at the Academy of Music has been rejected. Through the eight episodes of the season, we watch as Bertha challenges Mrs. Astor and the old system and works to not only gain a foothold in Society, but to potentially take a leading role in it. George Russell takes on his own battle with a growing union at his steel plant in Pittsburgh. In the Brook House, Marian continues her journey to find her way in the world secretly teaching at a girls school while much to everyone’s surprise Ada begins a new courtship. Of course, Agnes approves of none of it. In Brooklyn, the Scott family begins to heal from a shocking discovery, and Peggy taps into her activist spirit through her work with T. Thomas Fortune at the NY Globe.
Anthology series Lawmen: Bass Reeves premieres on Paramount+ November 5 with the first two episodes. Revealing the untold story of the most legendary lawman in the Old West, the series follows the journey of Reeves and his rise from enslavement to law enforcement as the first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi. Despite arresting over 3,000 outlaws during the course of his career, the weight of the badge was heavy, and he wrestled with its moral and spiritual cost to his beloved family. Future iterations of the series will follow other iconic lawmen and outlaws who have impacted history.
Love Is Blind Season 5: The Reunion will premiere October 15 on Netflix. Hosted by Nick & Vanessa Lachey, the special will reunite the cast for the first time since their mid-season breakups, “I Dos,” or “I Don’ts.” They’ll reflect on their relationships, break down this season’s twists and turns, and unveil secrets that have unfolded since the experiment concluded. The Spiderwick Chronicles will now air on The Roku Channel. The series was initially ordered at Disney+ before they abandoned plans to air it. The eight episode series based on the book series of the same name by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black will premiere in early 2024. The series follows the coming-of-age story of the Grace Family, as they move from New York to Michigan and into their family’s ancestral home. Upon arrival, the family not only uncovers mysteries hidden inside their great grandfather’s Spiderwick Estate, but also discovers a secret, fantastical world around them.
Belle Collective returns November 10 on OWN. Tambra Cheri, Marie Hamilton-Abston, Aikisha Holly-Colon, Lateshia Pearson, Latrice Rogers and Sophia O. Williams aka “Sogucci” are the Belles, a dynamic group of entrepreneurs representing their hometown of Jackson and the very best of Black female entrepreneurship in the modern south today. They continue to navigate their businesses, charity work, and the ups and downs of their personal lives all while always looking fabulous and with just the right balance of sweet and spice they are known and loved for. The season rounds out with the Belles being invited to the State Capitol to receive a big honor, however one of them is excluded and the accusations fly. Will the Collective survive?
